Notes

1 Except for generator/alternator, crankshaft rpm is shown. For distributor bench tests, divide rpm and degrees by two and the resultant readings will be half of the figures shown.
2 Always check unit number against that listed in the data before using specifications.
3 If distributor, generator or alternator are tested on the vehicle whilst the engine is not loaded, discretion must be used where high rpm test readings are shown.
4 When checking distributor on vehicle add initial ignition advance setting to figures shown.
5 Specifications shown are for vehicles without air conditioning unless otherwise stated.
6 Distributor vacuum hoses disconnected unless otherwise stated.
7 Timing and idle speed to be checked in Neutral unless otherwise stated.
8 Wheel alignment specification for vehicle in unladen condition unless otherwise stated.
9 Compression pressures should be checked at cranking speed with engine at operating temperature and throttle valve held wide open for carburettor engines. For EFI engines, remove fuel pump fuse or electrical leads at injectors (see charts).
10 Modified or racing engines are not included in this publication.
